The construction sector recorded a 4.9% growth in the first month of 2023 in contracts signed.
According to recent data published by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), this figure represents a significant increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
This increase is due to the economic reactivation and demand in the construction sector, which continues to rise. This data is good news for the labor market, especially for construction workers.
In January, the most hired occupation in the sector was bricklayers, accounting for 30% of contracts, but it experienced a 16.7% decrease compared to the previous year. Positions that experienced year-on-year growth were public works laborers (+9.8%) and construction supervisors (+1.7%).
