Technicians, managers, professors, consultants and political and local agents met at the Escola Tècnica Superior del Vallès (ETSAV-UPC) at the REfabriCAT 2019 conference to discuss’ Communities and processes for the future of economic activity spaces in Catalonia ‘
After the intense social and economic transformations of recent decades, which have modified the activities and needs of industrial estates, aspects such as industrial relocation, the outsourcing of company functions, the fragmentation of production processes or the flexibilization of production oriented to demand, among others, are developing a new polygon profile.
To analyze this new concept, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is organizing this second day of debate on the future of industrial estates in Catalonia, promoted by the LiTA research group. The objective is to promote a meeting between various agents and professionals involved so that they establish a consensus and intervention priorities in the short and medium term. It is essential to create a public opinion about the next interventions in the updating of industrial estates, to propose possible technical solutions in all areas, related to urban, ecological, new technologies, technical – constructive, etc.
